We want to encourage EVERYONE to join us for Sunday School in June. All ages are invited to learn, laugh, and grow together during this intergenerational Sunday School starting June 3rd.       Mark Tucker

New Members’ Class will meet this Tuesday, May 29,

Nursery Leader Needed

The Toddler Nursery (walking through age 3) is in immediate need of a regular nursery leader who would serve once a month. This involves overall supervision of the children (with two other volunteers) and facilitation of the simple morning routine of play time, story, and snack. No outside preparation time involved. Please contact Alice Tucker if interested or curious! (alice.tucker@gmail.com or 762-9716)

Cornerstone Work Day

Saturday, June 9, 9 am – 12 noon

Cornerstone Corporation is a non-profit housing ministry associated with Grace & Peace Fellowship and provides housing for low-income recipients. Cathajane Rieger, former member of Old Orchard, is President of its board and Margaret Wilke also serves on the board.

The work day will include cleaning out basements, landscaping work, painting or cleaning—depending upon what the need is in June. We’ll know more details closer to the date. Sign up to come!

The West County Community Group has decided to make this a group project You are invited to join them!

Biloxi Trip

We are still wanting to plan a trip to Biloxi to help with rebuilding efforts there. If you desire to go—even if you haven’t previously expressed interest—please e-mail the church office (office@oldorchardchurch.org) and propose dates you are available. We are surveying all those who had expressed interest and get a commitment of at least 4 people to go together on a set of dates that works for them. Then we will invite others in the congregation to join that group. We’d like to hear from everyone by the end of May! Please get this in by Wednesday!

Grass Cutting Volunteers Wanted

We are cutting Willie Lee’s lawn again this summer. Lawn mower at the home. Willie is our disabled friend in the area. See sign-up sheet or talk to Brian Curry to volunteer.

Thank you for signing up to mow the church lawn. The schedule is complete through the summer, but we could use substitutes. See Jerry Taussig to volunteer.

SUMMER RUF is coming…

College. It’s more than just a place. It’s a stage of life.  It’s a lot of fun and a load of trials, all at once. It’s a launching pad for the rest of your life. But over the summer it can be lonely and dry. Here’s something to consider:  a place to find biblical challenge and encouragement at weekly large group meetings, social activities all over the place, opportunities to serve the community, and the hallowed weekly Night Ultimate Game. That place is SUMMER RUF, the Missouri Presbytery’s ministry to every college student in St. Louis. There’s a place for you at SUMMER RUF.

Summer RUF starts May 29th at 7:00 p.m. at Covenant Seminary. We'll have worship and our theme for the sermon series will be about service/mercy ministry. We would love for every college student who is in St. Louis for the summer to come. Go to www.summerruf.blogspot.com for more details. We’ll be watching for you…

OOC Prayer Requests

Pray for Jerram Barrs and Hans Bayer, on a teaching trip to Brazil.

Pray for Alice Tucker. For safe delivery of baby; due date May 30.

Pray for Joel & Cyndi Keen as they move to St. Peters to help plant a church. Thank the Lord that they sold their house, and will be moving into another one on June 15. Pray that OOC people would give a hand with moving.
