Tidbits — April 8, 2007 — Easter Sunday!
Welcome to Old Orchard Church!
We welcome you to our
worship. If you would like to find out more about Old Orchard & what we are
about, please fill out one of our visitor forms. Also, we invite you to use our
child care services for infants through children in kindergarten,
located in the church building’s basement.
Sunday School News
No Sunday School today!
Classes begin again next Sunday at 9:00 a.m. Both adult classes will be at
Milligan House.

Meets at
Milligan House. Led by Ron Lutjens.
uTwo Week Class (April 15 & 22) on the recent
claim by an Israeli journalist to have discovered the bones of Jesus. Led by
Stephen Leung and Larry Chambers.
Spring OOC Work Day
Saturday, April 21. 9 am to 5 pm.
Lunch
provided! Workers Wanted!
We need volunteers to prepare the main dish &
dessert.
Gretta Kraft will prepare the salad.

Bring Food Any Sunday
You are invited to bring non-perishable foods on any Sunday. Soups,
box meals, canned foods, rice, pasta, tomato products, ramen noodles,
cereal/muffin mix. Container is in the foyer. —OOC Mercy Ministry
Katrina Rebuilding Team
Work in Biloxi continues in
rebuilding efforts after Katrina. You are invited to be part of an OOC team to
go to Biloxi May 3-7 to help with rebuilding work there. All skill levels are
welcome. Please contact the church office (314.962.3795). We need to finalize a
team soon!
Church Wide Retreat
Mark your calendar! Don’t
plan to miss it! The third annual OOC church-wide retreat will be Friday,
May 11 and Saturday, May 12. Details will be forthcoming when it’s time to
sign up—and that will be soon!
Grass Cutting Volunteers Wanted
Sign up for cutting the grass of both
the church and Milligan House. Sign-up sheets are out today, but won’t be
circulating in the circle. See Jerry Taussig if you have questions or to
volunteer.
Extreme Joint-Church Memorial Day
Backpacking Retreat!
Old Orchard Church
and Grace & Peace will be joining up May 25-28 for a backpacking trip from
Johnson's Shut-Ins to Taum Sauk (the highest point in Missouri). (13 miles each
way) Contact Currie Bishop (314-605-2133, curranb79@gmail.com) for more
information.
Balloon Launch. After Worship
The
children (& some adults!) will send off helium-filled balloons as a symbol
of Christ’s resurrection after worship this morning. We have postcards out
today for kids/adults to write Easter greetings on and attach to the balloons.
We put the cards in the small bags and then attach them to the balloons.

Our Welcoming Ministry photo
team continues to take photos this Sunday. See Annie Kuhn or Gretta Kraft. We
hope to get photos on a bulletin board and into a directory for your use. We
want everyone to get their photo taken. No hiding from the camera!
Overture
Today is the deadline
for the next Overture (our newsletter) for the next issue published next
Sunday. Please put articles in the Overture box or send them to the
church office at office@oldorchardchurch.org.

Movies@Milligan House
Movie Night at Milligan
House will be Friday, April 20 at 6:30 p.m. The movie to be shown is
“What About Bob?”. All invited!
Movies@Milligan House are free and open to anyone (Christian or otherwise)
interested in watching and discussing movies. Complimentary pizza and child
care are provided. Please RSVP to Matt Philip by Wednesday, April 18 for child
care.
Meal at Milligan House
On Sunday, April 22, all
invited to a meal after worship at Milligan House. This will be in honor of our
Children’s Ministry volunteers. Look for a sign-up sheet today, but it won’t be
passed around in the circle. The sign-up will be passed around next Sunday in
the communion circle. Questions? See Chris Carter or Mark Tucker.
