Gift Boxes to Brazil—Next Sunday is Deadline!
Again this year we
are sending boxes of gifts to our brothers and sisters in Belo Horizonte,
Brazil. Old Orchard has sent teams to serve in these communities three times
and we plan to go every other year. Another way that we serve these churches is
by sending Christmas gift boxes. So we are asking members of our church to do
the following: get an old shoe box, fill it with gifts, including $5 for
shipping, and bring it to the church by November 5th. The idea was
inspired by The Samaritan's Purse Christmas Box ministry. If you have questions
see Pastor Mark.
Please
Note: Copies of the instructions are in the parlor.

Grace & Peace Winter
Shelter
Soon, on November 12, the
Grace & Peace Winter Shelter will open its season of serving homeless women
in the City of St. Louis. We published their recent letter in the 10/15/06 Overture,
and Melody Burke, Team Leader, will give our Moment for Missions next Sunday,
November 5. Pray for their volunteer and financial needs to be provided.
Consider volunteering
in some way! Staff (they still
need 3), Evening Volunteer, Evening Meal Preparer, Serving a
Holiday Meal, Cooking/Serving a Sunday Breakfast. Providing meals or breakfast
would be a great service for a prayer group or a group of friends to do
together. Brochures giving more information about volunteering are in
the parlor.
Also, if you would like to
volunteer, you can either sign the sheet circulating today or call them at
314.367.8959. If you are interested in providing an evening meal, please sign
up or call Tirzah Rhodes at 314.726.5572.

and hard work in the past. Some have made candlesticks from things in the
woods, some wax candles, cookies, breads, note holders, marbled note paper,

buying a few last minute gifts!
