OOC Directories
Please pick yours up. If you
need a second copy, you can take one of the “extra copies” — available on a
first come, first serve basis. If the extra copies are gone, sign the list to
get one and we’ll run another small batch soon. If you are new and aren’t yet
in the directory, take an extra copy, and fill out an OOC Directory form for
the church office and we can publish it in the Overture. Binders—we ran out of
the OOC binders and due to our budget restraints did not buy another set. We
have bought a few and are distributing them first to new people (who don’t have
binders).
See Durinda Hood for questions.

Wednesday, June 7, 6:15 p.m.
We’re doing something
different at the June House Church meeting. We’re going to watch the PBS
Frontline documentary on China, a most informative, fascinating inside look at
this rapidly developing country. The film is 1 ½ hours long, so here’s how
we’re going to plan the evening: we will
begin at 6:15 p.m., and if you aren’t able to eat supper at home, you can bring
your own sandwiches and eat while you watch the movie. Beginning at that time
will allow us a half hour afterwards to pray together—for the progress of the
gospel in China and for other needs as well. Please plan on joining us. This is
a good opportunity for us to expand our understanding of God’s world.
Child care will be provided,
but you need to sign up or let Stacey Stefanski know that you’re needing child
care.
Sunday, June 25, 6:00 p.m.
To raise funds for our trip to Brazil.
Please join us on this
evening for a time of food and entertainment. We are asking for contributions
toward the ministry projects that we will be involved with in Belo Horizonte,
Brazil. Watch for sign-up sheets for this later, but meanwhile, mark you
calendar to come!

Webster Sidewalk Sale—June
17
Webster Groves is hosting a sidewalk sale on June 17,
9 a.m. to 2 p.m. This will be an event where churches, organizations and
individuals can host tables to sell items or to promote their services. Old
Orchard Church will be sponsoring a booth for the purpose of outreach (not
selling) but we need church people to help host. If you are available for any
portion of this time contact Mark Tucker, 314.680.3670, or maltucker@gmail.com.
OOC Hurricane Disaster
Relief Team??
We are exploring the
possibility of sending a team to the Gulf Coast to assist in clean-up and/or
repair. What we need to know is if you are interested in participating in a
short-term trip either this summer or possibly fall. We may work through
Samaritan’s Purse or with a specific church. We would like to find someone
interested in coordinating the trip with the organization the team goes with.
Let Durinda Hood know if you are interested in going or in coordinating.
South City Church (your
daughter church!) invites you all to “Karoga Bonga” (Swahili for “stir food as
it cooks as you talk to each other”). Invite your friends to this bi-weekly
pot-luck picnic in Tower Grove Park (at the “tunica site” in the southwest
quadrant of the park). It will be on Thursday evenings all summer starting at
5:30 p.m., and it will be a wonderful time to fellowship and eat and play
games, etc.! Just bring a side dish or desert as hot dogs and hamburgers will
be provided. These are the dates: June
8, 22, July 6, 20, August 3, 17, 31.
