Welcome Visitors!
We invite you to fill out
one of the visitor forms from the thin books in the pews to help us get to know
you. Please place it in the offering plate. Thanks!
Please also note... Part of our gladness on the Lord’s Day is visiting
with each other! But before the service please greet each other outside or in
the parlor so that the sanctuary can remain quiet for those who want to
meditate on the Lord.
Pastor Ron Is Away
Ron & Katherine are away
this week and will return late May 1. If you are in need of pastoral care, call
Mark Tucker, our Assistant Pastor, or one of the ruling elders, Hurvey Woodson

Movies@Milligan House
Would you die for a cause that was
great enough?
That is just one of the
questions that April's Movie@Milligan House poses. Step back into pre-imperial
China to follow the epic tale of a warrior (played by Jet Li) whose heroic acts
earn him entrance into the presence of the king.
According to a Revelant
Magazine review, "The film uses subtitles but the main thrust of the
picture is not its dialogue, instead, it’s the flowing cinematography and the
art of the unspoken. The unfolding imagery is poetic and skillful, playing on
all the senses...it is refreshing to see a film from another culture and to
gain an appreciation of what that culture values as art. If you are willing to
engage in the story, and use your imagination—not to mention, reading
subtitles, then this film is for you."
Come join us Friday, April
29, at 6:30 p.m. for an evening of film and discussion. Please bring your
friends, Christian or otherwise. Complimentary pizza and child care will be
provided! Please RSVP to Chris Gillam for child care. For more info, see Chris
Gillam, Jay Simmons or Matt Philip.

Opportunities to Serve
at Webster-Rock Hill Ministries
Matt Philip reminded us last
week of our relationship with Webster Rock Hill Ministries and opportunities to
serve there. We wanted to list the openings that he mentioned. See Matt Philip
for questions. This is the organization that we give our Easter baskets to and
through whom we usually adopt a family for Christmas.

That Easter Day With Joy Was Bright
Latin Hymn (5th c.), tr. By John M. Neale (1851)
j
That Easter day with joy was bright,
the sun
shone out with fairer light,
when, to their longing eyes restored,
the glad
apostles saw their Lord.
k
His risen flesh with radiance glowed;
his
wounded hands and feet he showed,
Those scars their solemn witness gave
that
Christ was risen from the grave.
l
O Jesus, strong in gentleness,
come now
yourself, our hearts possess,
that we may give you all our days
the
tribute of our grateful praise.
m
Come, risen Christ, with us abide
in this
our joyful Eastertide;
your own redeemed forever shield
from
every weapon death can wield.
