OOC Tidbits Û July 3, 2005

Welcome Visitors!

We invite you to fill out one of the visitor forms from the thin books in the pews to help us get to know you. Please place it in the offering plate. Thanks!

Please also note... Part of our gladness on the Lord’s Day is visiting with each other! But before the service please greet each other outside or in the parlor so that the sanctuary can remain quiet for those who want to meditate on the Lord.

Hey, Why Don’t Come to  our Family Movie Night?

Friday, July 8, 7 p.m.

All OOC families are encouraged to bring friends from school, neighborhood, etc. to our third Family Movie Night. This is a great way to reach out to those around us that are hungry for truth in a broken world, as well as fellowship with each other.

Popcorn and drinks will be provided at the show on Friday, July 8 at 7 p.m. To be shown:  Toy Story. The film creates an impressive, 3-D computer-generated world in which toys take on a life of their own when their owners aren't looking. The result is a sweet confection for the eyes and ears that's as wholesome as it is visually stunning.

For questions, please see Mark Tucker, or Kelli McKie.

Photos Wanted! Help Wanted! For OOC Photo Album

If you would like help us organize and place photos in the church’s photo albums, please let me know. Just give me a call or e-mail me. I’ve had one new volunteer!

Also, if you have any photos of church events that you would be willing to donate to the album, please get them to me. Parents, we’d like a photo of your family on the day of your child’s baptism.

Please do not write on the back of your photos—use a post-it note attached to the photo. Please put photos you want to donate in the designated box.

If you have any questions, do call me.

OOC Prayer Requests ——–-

Pray for the good contact with the several families from outside Old Orchard who have come twice to our family movie nights.

Pray for Rusty & Jennifer Milton. Rusty has been offered a position pastoring a small church in Alabama that they are praying about.

Pray for Mark Dawson, former intern at Old Orchard, and his wife Robin and daughters. Mark is at Wallace Memorial Presbyterian Church (PCA) just outside Washington DC this week. The church is very seriously looking at Mark for a pastoral position there, so pray for him and Robin as they visit and meet with the Session this afternoon.

Give thanks to God for the rich blessings we enjoy as Christians who live in America. Pray for peace in Iraq and in the Middle East, and for greater justice and goodness to be reflected in our laws here and in our citizenry.

Happy Fourth of July!

The church office will be closed

 Monday, July 4.
